Andrew Sharp, Founder and Managing Director of Golden Arrow Communications - Biography

Andrew Sharp has over thirty years experience in the government and political sector, including working both in-house and as a consultant. Since 2002 he has specialised in public affairs for transport and local government clients and has successfully advised on a number of high-level assignments including:

  • Developing clients’ profiles in the context of the growing devolution of transport powers from central to local government
  • Assisting clients with their stakeholder and government relations in procurement processes
  • Providing strategic support for applications for public funding of projects
  • Successful enactment of legislation supporting clients’ transport and wider development objectives

Andrew founded Golden Arrow Communications in 2005 to develop his interests in public policy and stakeholder and community campaigns. Andrew offers in-depth knowledge of regional policy and strategic campaign management, derived from more than a decade as the Labour Party's Director of the Northern and Yorkshire Regions, where he played a leading role in the General Election campaigns of 1992 and 1997. Following promotion to Labour’s national headquarters, Andrew successfully advised senior Government ministers, MPs, business organisations and local government on a range of public policy issues.
